South Vocal Ensemble
South Vocal Ensemble (S.V.E.) is the elite choral ensemble at Council Rock High School South whose members are selected through audition. We perform a wide variety of music ranging from 14th century works to contemporary pop and jazz compositions.
Ryan auditioned for SVE at the end of 8th grade to be included the followin year. Ryan was 1 of only 2 Freshman to be selected for the ensemble.
Phillies – Freshman year
The One of the first times we would hear Ryan’s SVE ensemble was when they would sing the National Ahthem at a Phillies game.
Freshman – SVE sings Agnus Dei
Ryans freshman year included a trip to London with the Choir. This is SVE singing in the chapter house of Wells Cathedral in England and is a a great example of the type of works performed by the group.
Freshman – O Fortuna
This may be one of the best examples of the music program at CR South. Here the CR South Orchestra and Choir perform Oh Fortuna.
Sophomore – SVE
Every year SVE would include a beetles song in their repretore. Here SVE sings “In my life”. Ryan has a duet at 2:11.
Sophomore – Barnes & Noble
One of the favorite concerts of the year is held at the end of each school year – where many alumni will return to sing with the choir and SVE at a Barnes & Noble fundraiser. The director will often call for the kids to sing songs from previous years without any rehearsal. It is often a lot of fun. This is SVE singing “For the longest time”. Ryan has a solo at 1:15. The boys had not sang this in over a year – notice they needed their phones to help them remember the lyrics.
Junior Year
This is the Concert Choir singing “Didn’t it Rain”. Ryan has a short solo at includes a brief solo for Ryan at 1:05.
Junior Year – Sweeney Todd
This is NOT your CR Choir selection. But I needed to include it because we enjoyed it so much. Ryan’s has a short solo at 2:24.
Junior – “Imagine”
Ryan and Haley singing the duet for “Imagine” by the Beatles.
